Just watched the new "Star Wars" film and what a disappointment, just recycled material from past films, with cardboard characters going through the motions, and no real drama...ugh! Cannot believe all the praise it got from critics.
In contrast, saw this on netflex a few days ago and it was 10 times better.
Very sad when a 65 year old B&W film beats it by a mile. I hope they enjoy all the money that film makes, but I guarantee it will be forgotten pretty quickly.
But this film stands the test of time and will live forever !

Couldn't agree more. This film's been out for 65 years, and it's still a classic, despite it's lack of sophisticated modern CGI effects (or maybe because of it). In less than 20 years The Force Awakens will likely be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Roger Ebert. You were the best.
