And she of course got pregnant. This would be x-rated and not displayed in the movie because it was made in the 50's

The answer is "nothing". You don't get babies by sleeping together. You get babies by

fornicating
copulating
coupling
playing naked games
doing the humpty dance
making the beast with 2 backs
etc.,

But sleeping only gets you rest.
