Remember it from childhood

I remember seeing the shows first run. I loved it and the
"Honeymooner". I never saw the characters as Black any more
than I saw the "Honeymooners" as White New Yorkers. I saw
very funny comedians that is all I saw.

I agree. I remember my family sitting around watching it when I was growing up. I watched it again as an adult when it first came out on VHS. I still found it to be funny.

I never saw the characters as Black either. They were funny like my Italian-American family. I had the pleasure of viewing a few episodes on DVD recently and the comedy still holds up after 50 years. The Amos 'n Andy Show is a true American gem.
