After the second round of the shooting contest, Dutch's grouping is tighter than Lynn's. Notice that two of Dutch's bullets slighly overlap. With Lynn's there is a slight gap, no overlap. Dutch Henry Brown should have won the rifle based on shooting accuracy after round 2.
shareI don't think so. I see what you are saying, but I doubt they would have applied that reasoning to the contest. In darts bulls are bulls, no grouping. They do reference the grouping, but the bulls are bulls - they are equal.

In round one, Lin shoots closer to the centre of the bulls-eye.
As the poster said at the begining of the thread in the second round Dutch Henry shoots a bit closer. But, by his own logic, in that case it ought not to have gone to a second round- Lin should have won.
You could say the same thing about the round when they shoot the coins. Wyatt Earp calls Lin's shot "dead center", while Dutch Henry's shot is "not dead center, but it's a clean hit". It looks like Dutch Henry's bullet split a piece of the side of the coin, where Lin's made a perfect little doughnut. So by that logic, they shouldn't have needed the final two rounds.
