A cameo role before he was famous?

CONTAINS SPOILERS

Following unsuccessful attempts by Dixon to covince his colleagues that Scalise murdered Paine and that Morgan Taylor's father was innocent, Dixon is in a bind. How can he proove Jiggs Taylor's innocence without implicating himself? In the end, Dixon decides to frame Scalise for his own murder and uses Willie Bender to arrange a meet with the crimial.

My question: the driver of the cab that Dixon used to grab Bender looks like Dominic Chianese aka Junior Soprano from the TV series The Sopranos. Chianese was born in 1931 and would have been 19 at the time of the film. Does anyone else see the similarity

reply

Nope, not really. And another actor played the cab driver.

reply

Wasn't it Bozo Miller?

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

reply

I thought it was Duke Watson?

reply

It couldn't have been Moe, but yer guess may be sacerdotal.

Speaking of cameo (and uncredited, no less) roles, did anyone notice Neville Brand as one of Scalise's bad boys?

reply

Sure did, but he's hard to miss. He was one of the nice little heavies back then, and continued on to having a good career on early TV. I think he had a regular role on the TV western "Texas Rangers" but I always thought that (if the time had been right) he would have made a great Ben Grimm/The Thing. Always nice to see him in films.

OK it is 6 years since the OP post but here goes. I was watching this for the first time and it bothered me that I recognized Willy but couldn't place him and then I had that jolt of recognition: Junior Soprano from Sopranos and also JOhnny Ola from Godfather II.

I see from the cast list that it is not him but I was convinced it was just as you were.
