Political Correctness takes on the Classics

God how I hate the 21st Century


Why is it that the Politically Correct Dunces of today have to put their own spin on the Classics that we all grew up with?

This BS about supposed paedophilia in "Treasure Island" is reminiscent of similar bizarre interpretations seen here at IMBD concerning the classic movie "Shane" with Alan Ladd.

These warped minded critics saw a paedophilia-like relationship that JOEY supposedly had for SHANE, even going so far as to theorize that Shane's Six Gun was a Phallic Symbol which stimulated Joey's attraction. As a father who grew up on Classic films, I find this very offensive that these theories are even put forth here at IMBD.

To go one step further, even the 1963 classic thriller "The Haunting" with Julie Harris did not escape the scrutiny of these Politically Correct Bozos. Their take on the movie's storyline centered around a supposed "Lesbian Tension" between the characters played by Julie Harris and Claire Bloom.

When these 21st Century Idiots aren't re-evaluating the storylines of classic movies, their Hollywood Heroes are rewritting classic script to suit their own personnal Egos. Case in point was the modern movie "Troy" in which at least three of the main characters from the classic Greek Tragedy were killed off within the first hour.

I guess the classic writings of Homer just weren't good enough for the Egomaniac Scriptwriters of Today.
