Did Widmark Give Palance Lessons?

This was Jack Palance's first major role. He throws a disabled person from a great height. In Widmark's first famous role he played a crazed killer who pushed an old lady in a wheelchair down a long flight of stairs. I wonder if Richard gave Jack 'pointers' on effectively throwing handicapped people from great heights for fun and profit. Both actors did well despite such gruesome starts!

I reckon Palance did not need much acting lessons.

In the movie Shane, Palance had to deal with his equinophobia (fear of horses!). There is a scene of him coolly mounting a horse that is really a shot of Palance getting off the horse but played in reverse. He was a gutsy guy and over time actually managed to be adequate in the stirrups.
