Very good picture

I love this movie.

i don't know why, but this movie is sometimes on worst movies ever made lists! i think in recent years, it's become much more appreciated. though at the time, it was nominated for some acting academy awards. but i also suspect that some people never actually watched it and just lumped it in with a lot of other "women in prison" movies and then just added it on their list! actually, this movie is considered the "women in prison" movie, that all others eneded up trying to copy. there were a couple before this, the best probably being "ladies they talk about", with barbara stanwyck. iy was also a pre-code movie, so they didn't follow all those goody-two shoes rules they followed, after they started having to adhere to the hayes code. give it a try, it's really fun to watch and barbara stanwyck is beautifuland great in it! i love barbara in the movies from the 30's, her acting was amazing. later on, something changed{maybe the movies changed}and she seemed to get a little hammy and over-the-top. but those early movies, she's stellar!
