Big Goof in Mind Your Own Business

In this episode, Ralph gives advice to Norton that gets him fired. He tells Norton to demand a raise and a promotion, but it backfires and Norton is fired.

In the next scene, Norton tells Alice that he had words with his boss, but never mentions that he was taking someone's advice to demand a raise or promotion. He just said he was fired.

Then in the next scene, Alice tells Ralph that Norton was fired because he was listening to someone's advice and that Norton threatened his boss, and she would love to get her hands on the big mouth who gave Norton that advice.

Actually Alice only says she "wondered" who gave Norton the advice to confront his boss because itt just didn't seem like the sort of thing Norton would do.

She knew him pretty well and it seemed out of character for Norton. Well that's how I interpreted the scene.

But Art Carney did flub a line at the beginning of the episode. Ralph was mad because Norton was beating him at gin and wanted to play another hand to win back his money (14 cents!).

Norton said that he didn't want to play any more because Ralph loses his temper. He tells Ralph, "When you win, you yell and scream." He really should've said, "When you LOSE".

Great observation. You found a plot hole
