Worst

The worst episodes will be the best of most series - but I just saw 'Agnes' for the umpteenth time and now she hit my idea of the worst appearance of anyone on the Honeymooners

The episode was great as they all are - but she was the pits!

reply

I agree, she was very annoying. So was Judy Connors aka Angel Cake. Their voices were terrible.

reply

True . she was no bargain.

Trixie was good or ok - but she did get hysterical once . and that was a bad scene.

+++++++

In any case it is a classic show for all time!!

reply

Yeah Trixie had some good and not so good moments, but I don't think she was every really bad. Remember when she fell in Young at Heart? Still trying to figure out what that was about.

reply

There's one place where Trixie goes over the top - will come back when I find it. Overall she was ok - but she was 'no Alice' 😊

Another bad show was Mrs. 'Mom' Kramden - couldn't have beeen more wooden-

Just shows the quality of the show - 20 hours of real stuff - and maybe total 1 minute of 'bad.'

reply

Oh she was definitely no Audrey. That's why I never saw the big deal with Jane Kean being Trixie. Joyce was the original but I don't see her as being too crucial to the foursome.

reply

This is the first I have heard of any other 'Honeymooners' stuff except the '55 series. And from what I now see I feel very fortunate not to know any more about it.

reply

Well the Classic 39 are obviously the most loved and remembered but the Lost Episodes also have some great episodes and classic moments. The Color Honeymooners are so-so, Sheila MacRae was not a good Alice but those shows focused more on Gleason and Carney. And then the 70s specials are only 45 mins but at least Audrey was back as Alice. I think those are worth seeing, but of course they aren't as good as the Classic 39.
