Gracie Allen=Edith Bunker

Not sure, but it seems like Jean Stapleton may have patterned her character after Gracie a little bit.

"A little bit"?!! George had his second (or third?) wind as a popular entertainer when I was a kid, by which time Gracie was long gone. I knew OF her and had seen the odd clip here and there, but when I got Antannae TV a few weeks ago and started watching the show it almost immediately became clear that Gracie is Edith Bunker and Blanche is Wilma Flintstone (who I always wrongly assumed was Alice Kramden). And then there's George, who was routinely breaking down the fourth wall long before anyone else.

Lucy and The Honeymooners always seem to be airing somewhere, but I find it mind-boggling that I've never seen Burns and Allen or Jack Benny in syndication before, considering how popular and influential the shows were... and it's a damned shame Sony owns this show and has edited the hell out of Antannae TV's prints (unlike Benny's, which is in public domain and airs virtually uncut).

and Blanche is Wilma Flintstone

Nah, Blanche was Betty Rubble. ;-)

I mean the actress. Listen to the laugh some time; it's unmistakable.
