Lou Holtz...Which One?

George has mentioned a Lou Holtz in several episodes recently.

When I searched the name on IMDB I saw several listings of that name, several that based on their ages could have been one George was talking about. First one that automatically came to mind for me was the football coach.

Which, if any, of the LH's listed was George referring to or could it have just been a fictional name a scriptwriter wrote into the script?

Probably this one. He was best known as a vaudeville performer. George and Gracie worked for years in vaudeville.

Definitely not the coach, since he would only have been 21 when this show went off the air and didn't graduate college himself until 1959.

I believe the two profiles Lou Holtz(I) and Lou Holtz(II) are actually the same person based on the birth and death dates on the two pages and the two should be combined by IMDb.

I don't know what they have to say. It makes no difference anyway. Whatever it is, I'm against it.

I would never have thought the name was that common.

You are probably correct with your LH selection.

The Coach Holtz immediately got my attention since I watch football, especially college. Coach Holtz last coached a University located in my state, The University of South Carolina.
