Better on the second viewing

Something I've noticed with the Ealing comedies is that the first time I watch them I hardly laugh at all, but the second time, I enjoy it a lot more.

Granted, I've only seen four at this point (this, The Ladykillers, The Lavender Hill Mob and The Man In The White Suit), and only those first two more than once.

Admittedly, this could be because I'm a young'un (just recently turned 30), so a lot of it seems to me a bit dated nowadays - and in the case of Kind Hearts & Coronets, the first time I saw it I was only a kid, watching it with my parents. But when I saw this for the third time last night, I laughed my head off at the end. Dennis Price was absolutely amazing, had just the right voice for this villain-that-we-want-to-succeed.

Don't be so hard on yourself. This is the kind of movie that you can watch many times and always see someone new that you didn't before.

You have good taste...and that is always an ongoing process...

While I was watching it I felt that a second viewing would be necessary.
