His passing came just as Comcast listed this film on their "On Demand" menu, and, though I'm not a fan of these "Gay 1890's" romantic musicals (State Fair, My Fair Lady, etc.), I just happened to see this film last evening (again, it's not like me to watch that kind of "mushy" film), and, then found out about his passing just as I turned on the computer this morning - interesting timing, especially since I haven't heard Van Johnson's name mentioned in a long time - sometimes that is God's way of asking those of us still here to pray for the deceased person...
May he rest in God's peace...
