Buyer of the harp

It seems to me that the woman to whom Ms. Fisher sold the harp was Reta Shaw, or looks *very* like her. Perhaps you recall Mrs. Shaw from Pollyanna where she played the cook, or Mary Poppins where she played one of the house servants. I wonder how complete & accurate IMDB is regarding cast? I haven't found any proof that Mrs. Shaw was is TGOS, but then I haven't found any mention of the name of the actress purchasing the harp either.

Its easier to whisper advice from behind the scenes rather than risk its merit at the point of attack

I know this topic is a little aged, but I think I know who the actress is. I'm almost positive that the woman who purchased the harp was Florence Bates. When I saw the character you've mentioned in this film, I thought immediately that the actress playing her had also played Florence Dana Moorhead in "I Remember Mama." That character was an author whose appearance was late in the film, though important. If you happen to see "I Remember Mama", or to see it again, look for that character. I'm positive the two characters were played by the same woman, Florence Bates.

We just watched this movie & I am sure that perryaj has the right answer - the woman with the harp refers to the harpist who was part of the musical group with violinist Louise at the restaurant. Constance Purdy played the gushing woman in the store. Both Constance Purdy and Florence Bates can be seen in I Remember Mama where Florence Bates is the author and Constance Purdy plays a much smaller part as a nurse.

According to IMDB's cast list, Anna Q. Nilsson is listed as "Woman with harp", presumably she would be the one that Veronica sells the harp to

This is frustrating.

It's the character actress Constance Purdy. She's listed in the credits as 'gushing woman'.
