Follw Me Quietly and White Heat

The ending scene of both Follow Me Quietly and White Heat (the chase through a plant, the outdoor tanks, the metal railings, stairs, etc.) are remarkably similar (though the ending of White Heat is vastly, vastly superior.) Both films are listed as 1949. Anyone know which came first and whether one had an influence on the other?

According to the American Film Institute (http://www.afi.com/members/catalog/default.aspx?s=), Follow Me Quietly's production dates were from August 18 to early September of 1948, with a New York opening date of July 7, 1949 and a release date of July 14, 1949.

AFI's information states 1949's White Heat's production dates were from May 5 to mid-June of 1949, with a New York opening date of September 2, 1949 and a release date of September 3, 1949.

That's what I like about the Internet - you can easily research just about anything and find an answer. If you dig, you might even find an answer to your question as to whether the makers of one film were influenced by the other. From what I have read, and in my opinion, there is no resemblance between the two stories. The endings may appear to take place in the same locations, but they are dissimilar. Follow Me Quietly's location was a small a factory of some sort, where White Heat's setting was a huge oil plant. I hope I have helped!

There have been countless movies and tv shows where a fugitive runs into some sort of industrial plant and up the stairways and catwalks. It's most likely just a coincidence.
