What happened to "Esther" (Theresa Harris)?
Have watched this great Noir many times over the last 30 or so years and I only just realized that although Theresa Harris appears in the credits (as "Esther", The Maid), and her character is referred to in one scene, she doesn't appear in the film. Though an actress appears briefly as a maid, it's clearly not Theresa Harris, who would have had dialogue. I wonder what happened? Her name remained in the credits. Would appreciate any information about this. Thank you.
