Special Edition DVD
When are they going to release a worthy dvd? I mean, with all this John Wayne mania right now, I figured it would surely get it's do version. I think it should also get released in a Montgomery Clift collection as well.

Agreed!
shareIf there were ever a Monty box-set released, it would probably contain his yet un-released and lesser known titles.
I could envision a Clift box set with (possible) special editions of The Search (which needs to be released already, regardless), The Big Lift, Raintree County, Lonelyhearts, Wild River, and Freud. I doubt they'd make the effort with The Defector, but you never know.
I'm actually surprised that there isn't one already, to be honest.
But yeah, this film and other Monty greats were given the shaft when it came to DVD presentations. Rio Bravo gets a kick-ass treatment (which it thoroughly deserved), but not this one?
And totally out of left field, but we need The African Queen, damnit!
