It could be where the inspiration for Reacher came from, I had never noticed the comparison before. However Reacher is more physically imposing and would have had to beat some of the guys up before getting on the boat !!

He doesn't always beat them up, I am 6ft 5/6 so same height, similar hair, not that heavy compared to him but after surfing my bod looks the same as readers would expect.
