SOMETHING ABOUT THE WOMEN IN THIS PICTURE...

Did you notice how 'modern' they look?
Especially Claire Trevor, her makeup, her dress- she could fit into today's world easily. No forties hairdo, dress or shoes. Even Loren could fit.
Strange, isn't it?

I made the same observation when I last saw Key Largo and as you say especially Claire Trevor.

I just watched this last night...and was rather taken by how attractive Claire was in this movie. Lauren looked rather stunning too...youthful, no ravages of smoking on her skin.... Claire kind of reminded me as a perfect partner for Kid Shileen in Cat Ballou...I'll drink to that! She really was pretty hot for an older woman...

Considering the film was made in 1948, the women do look very up-to-date in dress, especially Claire Trevor. Miss Bacall's look was a precursor of those full 1950s skirts and bobby socks. It was a treat to see Miss Trevor's apparel, so neat and becoming, and as already observed, it has hardly dated at all.

...as opposed to the way most of the men were dressed, what with oversized trousers and large conspicuous suspenders. Bogart looked neat and trim, though, I'll give you that.
