Final shot should have been...

The shot where Bacall opens the window and the sunlight blasts through. Would have been one of the best final shots in history.

The shots of Bogie on the boat after are redundant and not special.

So sezeth I, so sezeth the world.

Would have been even better had Melancholia smashed into the planet at the moment!

Surprise!!!

What's next? Prostitutes rising from the ground and spitting all over my lawn?

in the beginning there was light of the hotel, the remainder of the movie takes place in darkness until the light at the end, also notice how high up their pants are which i realise was the way people dressed in the old days, it's been spoofed in "family guy" and referred to by al bundy though he said it was how europeans still wear pants. the actor playing ziggy was in two bond flicks in the 1970s and on the commentary track to "the man with the golden gun" roger moore joked something like that he's been in every other gangster movie ever made, he must have been in movies for like most of hollywood history, i saw him play a gangster boss yet again (like in this) in an italian comedy movie with bud spencer from the 1980s, about the only actor who wasn't dubbed in that flick, i can't believe how young he must have been in this, he must have had a burn accident or something, and rocco even makes fun of his lack of hair. apparently the front cover of this movie have changed here recently, the former cover/poster was much more greater looking, the picture with 🌴 palm trees 🌴 and a sunset πŸŒ… i think, they should change it back to the way it were. favorite dialogue of the movie: rocco: - "what's worse, curly, a dumbell or a wise guy?", curly: - "a wise guy i guess".
