... have been a little better if Bogart had given the money to the Indian tribe.

Perhaps he did later. At least that is how I imagine it happens in my mind. Makes for a little better ending.

Also the saddened sheriff should have said that he notify the authorities in the USA and Cuba to be on the look out for the boat when he told of catching the other mob guys at the state line. At that time, he did not know that Bogart had killed the baddies and was returning home in the boat.

It was cool seeing Tonto from The Lone Ranger playing one of the doomed escaped Indians.

It was really weird hearing Lionel Barrymore talk lovingly about his dead son "GEORGE" after all he did to GEORGE BAILEY in IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946).
