I'm pretty sure the original B&W. You probably saw a colorized version.

About 20 years ago Ted Turner got the bright idea that old black & white movies if colorized would attract a bigger audience.. Hollywood was appalled, and eventually ex-wife Jane Fonda must have explained to him exactly how wrong that was.

reply

No, it's monochrome, you may have seen a coloured print but it's a b+w original - I'm watching it now !

reply

huh how can they make a black n white movie into colour?

reply

Crayola's Big Box of Crayons, with the sharpener!

I saw this last night on cable. Definitely B&W. I think maybe 15 or 20 years ago a lot of old B&W films were re-issued in colour.

When I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me. Well, they're not laughing now!

"Also shown in computer-colored version." (According to Leonard Maltin)

I don't think I want to go to the pictures. Oh?Why not? I've seen everything worth seeing.

64 box or the mega 128?

They assign a value to each area of grey and use computer that have subroutines that contain algorithms that guess as to what color something should be.

That why some blue eyed actors ended up with brown eyes and visa versa in the early days of colorization, which is a sin against nature.

It's in glorious Black & White. It always was - and thank God for it.

reply

Thank you for setting the record straight!
