John Huston directed both of 1948's Best Supporting Oscar Winners in two different films - Claire Trevor for KEY LARGO and his father, Walter, for TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE. I can't think of anyone else who's done this.

Yeah it's interesting and I wish it would happen again, except the odds are against it because most major film directors don't do two movies a year anymore. But maybe an up-and-coming director will.
