Osceola boys' accents

Born and raised in the same place, in the same family, yet Tom Osceola, played by Jay Silverheels, speaks English with the same Tonto accent he used in "The Lone Ranger", while John Osceola, played by Rodd Redwing, just sounds like an average American dude from California. This appears to be a variation of the Hayley Mills/Parent Trap phenomenon, in which movie characters' accents are not required to be consistent with their background, nationality, etc.

Well, it's not as though Old Man Templeton or Nora sound especially Southern, either.
