The writer Iain Sinclair will introduce 'It Always Rains on Sunday', the fourth in our ten-week season of great British films and a brilliant and often forgotten thriller set and shot in late 1940s London. This Ealing Studios gem manages to pull off the trick of being both a great snapshot of post-war East End life and a moody noir as it unfolds over one Sunday in 1947 - and it all ends with a stunning final night-time chase over the railway. Further to the above post this year it will be showing throughout November at the BFI on the south bank in London for anyone who wishes to see it on the big screen.

An absolute gem of a film. I saw this film on Friday and it is well worth catching if you can.
