Soundtrack question

Apologies if I'm repeating someone else's question, but does anyone know what the tune was that was played during the Grand March? I'll swear it's the same as the bagpipe tune that accompanied the horse race in The Quiet Man, but IMDb doesn't list any music in common between the two films.

I always think there's a band, kid.

I've wondered that myself but never thought to look into it until seeing your question. The melody is the St Patrick's Day March of the Irish Guards.

Good lively tune but perhaps John Ford had the right idea. More strings and fewer bagpipes. As the march was intended:
