The Non-Commission Officers Dance

I noticed the way Henry Fonda danced was the same way he danced in My Darling Clementine. Was this a dance of the era or the only way he new how to dance? The others aren’t dancing like he does.

Fort Apache = 1876 more or less.

My Darling Clementine = 1880-81.

The dance styles of the Old West didn't change much in those years. The Waltz, the Polka, the Schottische, and a few others would get you through a dance party of the time adequately. Ford really did pretty well depicting the social dances of the time.
