Marlene Dietrich Song
What song was Marlene Dietrich singing in the bar in this film? I think it was along the lines of "The Walls of Berlin" but I can't find it on the internet without remembering the wording of the lyrics
Thanks

in this movie marlene sings "black market" and the beautiful "ruins of berlin".i've downloaded both of them with e-moule.
shareShe also sings, "Want to Buy Some Illusions".
shareAmong the ruins of Berlin/In den Ruinen von Berlin/Dans les ruines de Berlin, by Friedrich Holländer (who accompanies her on the piano).
"Black Market," "Illusions" (that's the complete title) and "The Ruins Of Berlin" are the three songs sung by Dietrich. All of them first-rate.
'We're not in Medford now. We're in a hurry.'

'There’s a name for you ladies, but it’s not used…Outside a kennel! (Crystal Allen)'
Black Market: "I'll trade you for your candy some gorgeous merchandise. My camera (she holds up a camera) it's a dandy, 6x9, just your size. (She holds up a bisque statue) You want my porcelain figure..." Shee it. Didn't anyone get that?
shareYes we did. Probably Erika holding up the camera and the statue saved the song from being cut which would have been a crime.
share"You want my porcelain figure?" Marlene asks in "Black Market". Whenever I hear her sing that (and she holds up a white statue) I imagine that Billy Wilder used the statue to get those lyrics past the censors. It is a beautiful thing neatly done.
