The recording equipment?
Anybody know anything about the recording equipment that Claude Rains uses? Like what is it called, who made it, what model etc?
Thanks

I think it was manufactured by RCAVictor, but since it is only on tape, a freeze-frame isn't clear enough to tell for sure. Anyone one else?
shareIt is obvious that it records the old style vinyl records that CDs replaced. It cuts a grove in the master disk and the master disk is then used to make copies of the master. The machine is usually referred to as a lathe
shareBrand and model? Anyone?
shareIt is obvious that it records the old style vinyl records...Except they are so brittle when people break them in the film. Also, Claude Rains tosses one on a fire. I think even a man with servants would hesitate to do this -- wouldn't vinyl make a bad-smelling melted mess in the fireplace?
This is what he's using: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcription_disc
You'll notice that the discs look larger than standard LP records ... I'm pretty sure they're 16" transcription discs ... the instantaneous variety.
