Terrific!! Film noir at its best!!
I just finished viewing this (on a mongrel DVD, purchased online, which was a decent print - it's out there, folks, go an get it!), and I am blown away!!
Fantastic film!
I couldn't help but have a wry chuckle to myself when Joan Caulfield's Matilda first returns and Hurd Hatfield's Oliver makes her stand in front of her portrait and remarks that she hasn't changed - the painting had changed! Poor Hurd! Couldn't shake that Dorian Gray!
Wonderful camera work in this. The women were fantastic, especially Audrey Totter, although Constance Bennett was her near-equal.
