Peekskill Hotel! Cool detail! (a few spoilers!)

I love how, in the opening scenes, during Victor's first radio broadcast, right after the murder of Roslyn, while Victor, on the air, is going on about the Unsuspected, we see Press in his hotel room, in the Peekskill Hotel, obviously agitated by Victor's monologue on the radio and he looks out his window and sees the word "KILL" lit up in neon lights from the portion of the Peekskill Hotel sign that is visible from his room!

Brilliant touch!

Not quite as subtle as 'redrum' eh ? My grandmother lived there across the Hudosn from us in Peekskill. We visited all the time but I don't remember the hotel. Of course I was a wee lad then and only got to go/see where my father drove us to so I didn't see the whole town. Was there a 'Peekskill Hotel' or was that just made for that effect/gag (whatever you'd call it...). It does fit with rest of the of geography mentioned - the Saw Mill River Pkwy. and his property in Westchester Co.'cept Peekskill is further north from his spread (which I can't remember the name of the town now...Armonk, Croton...no, started with a 'B' IIRC ?). You from the area ?

Oh, I'm sure that the Peekskill Hotel was just something done on a soundstage at the movie studio, just to set up that flashing "KILL... KILL... KILL" on the neon sign. But, I really liked that little detail. I don't know Peekskill at all and I couldn't tell you whether there was a Peekskill Hotel or not. I did live in the city for a number of years and made many forays up the Hudson to various towns on occasion.

Yep, and there's a Cobleskill, a Fishkill, and a Schuylkill, and and a few other "kills" out there as well (incl. the "Catskills")!

The ending "kill," 'kil,' or 'kille' meant "creek," and it's part of the Dutch heritage out here in the East (esp. NY and PA). Great, charming little towns to visit !

I've just watched a clip of this scene. Very impressive. I need to see this movie. I've avoided clicking onto any other thread on this board. Just in case of inadvertent spoilers.
