Wedding suit
What color was that supposed to be? It looked like it was black, of course, but either way it seemed a really dark color. And this was her first marriage, although her husband's second.

shareBlack or Chocolate, maybe. But I thought it was odd that she wasn't wearing a pastel color. Not white but something else. She wasn't in love and it gave me the impression of a business arrangement.

Neither of my Grandmas wore 'wedding gowns'; in the 30s it wasn't the fashion, at least among the middle class. This was an 'older couple' and his second wedding, so it's not that surprising that she wore a suit. Often the suit was one that would be worn at other times, so the season may have dictated the colour... this was a time where etiquette quite dominated (public) behavior.
shareThanks for the info on the time period.
