the geek movie

One of my favorites. Power's character goes from the height of success down to the lowest form of human life: a geek. Those who use this term don't know the true meaning. A geek is little better than the chickens and lizards he is caged with.

I read somewhere that Nightmare Alley was Powers favorite of his films.

I thought his Zorro was very good.

Thanks for the reply...do you know where I could buy this movie?....

"All actors are essentially liars"....Johnny Depp

As far as I know, it not even OUT of print, it has NEVER been released on VHS or DVD. Such a pity. It deserves a following.

I love the scene where he talks to the sheriff "I see a boy with a dog...", and soon has the man in tears just from generalities.

The only solution I can see is to watch the 'scheduled on TV' under 'External Links' or what ever it is on the title page and tape it. (I just checked and it's not there now; keep checking.)

Sorry to bring bad news but it is nice to hear from another fan. Please let me know if you find anything.

It's been so long since I saw it, I don't remember much of it...except the scene toward the end when he has nothing and needs a job...he's at a side show and the only job offer is , of course, to be the geek...he states simply "I was made for it..." and then you see the shadow of a geek biting the chicken.......thanks for the advice......

I saw Nightmare Alley listed on www.oldies.com as
a DVD. Will be picking up a copy, as I never see it
on re-runs on TV.

I found it on EBay, but good luck finding one that isn't a copy. The original version is practically impossible to find.

Seriously? Dammit! I could have avoided going through the trouble of rooting through crap on EBay. Oh well.

I bought the DVD today(9/10/05) at a "Best Buys" for $9.99. This was the first time I have seen a copy DVD or tape.

I haven't seen it since initial release but remember it as one of my favorites.

I believe this is being released soon as part of eureka's masters of cinema series

Moviesunlimited.com has it on DVD for $11.99

The DVD release is awesome. Picture perfect, even has a slight surround sound track. It is part of the Fox Film Noir Collection. They keep releasing a slew of good noir films including KISS OF DEATH yesterday.

No more than $14.99 anywhere. $9.99 at Tower Records.

Just found it for rent today at Blockbuster. I have heard only negative reviews of this movie from people until I started reading these comments...
Will watch it tonight...
