Isn't the important question about how does one become a geek asked by Tyrone Power at the beginning a memorable quote? I don't remember the exact wording, but next time I see this, if nobody does it first, I'll catch the exact wording of the question and submit it as a memorable quotation.
I killed him for money and for a woman. I didn't get the money... and I didn't get the woman.
Yeah, that's another one that IMDb should have listed. That gets me though, that you click on "memorable quotes" on this board and there isn't one single one listed. I think that quote just mentioned and the geek question, because of its significance in the whole of the movie, should definitely be there.
Captain Warren 'Rip' Murdock: I'm the brass-knuckles-in-the-teeth-to-dance-time type.
This is one of my favorites: "I have a heart like an artichoke~a leaf for everyone." ~ Zeena says this after Stan says she has a good heart (as I recall).
When Stan is offered the geek job: "Mister, I was made for it."
This does have some good ones. Maybe we can compile enough to submit to IMDb.
I used to have a recording of this, but I accidentally taped over it. *sigh* However, I've seen it listed on Fox Movie Channel, so maybe I can get a new copy someday. I have to note that, having seen this when I was very young, I actually had nightmares for many years about the geek. It didn't surprise me when I saw someone at Yahoo!Answers suggest it for viewing as a horror film; it really does have its eerie moments.
I noticed the word 'geek' comes up several times in the dialogue but not really in the same two ways it's used nowadays. I gather that a geek job was a term that goes back to the nineteenth century in carnivals and circuses.
