Another interesting Mad Men parallel. Both Victor & Don are offered $35K in the attempt to coerce them into staying with the firm. I guess not much inflation between 1947 & 63.

According to the CPI Calculator:
$35K in 1947 had the same buying power as $48K in 1963 so there was considerable inflation in those post-war years. About 37% if my math skills are still competent.
Both salaries would have been very nice in their respective years.
FWIW, the tie Victor buys for $35.00 at the beginning of the film would be the equivalent of $375 in 2015.
