Did I miss something, or was it not terribly clear why the taxi driver went so far out of his way to help Parry? Such a wide gulf between "yeah, I think you were innocent" and "let me engage in aiding and abetting an escaped convict".
Was it ever made explicit why he was willing to go that far? I admit my attention was divided while I was watching - it may have gone by me.

He went on a lot about how he knows people, he's really good at getting the measure of a person. He believed Vincent to be innocent. And if Vincent is innocent, then a great injustice was done to him, and being caught and taken back to prison would be even more injustice. I suppose he thought of himself as a good samaritan helping someone out who needed help.
And who knows, maybe he's a bit shady himself. The fact that he just so happens to know a good, discreet plastic surgeon in the area who works in an alley and got kicked out of the American Medical Association could be seen to suggest that. In this case, maybe he's helping a fellow con get one over on the police.
It's open to interpretation, I suppose.

I did get a kick out of once again seeing TV's "Gillis" the neighbor on "Life of Riley" starring William Bendix. Gillis' wife, "Honeybee" was HOT, even to my eight-year-old eye.

I'm a hockey player and someone recently said on an NHL forum online that "our FAV era of hockey is the time when we are about 12 years old!" I was 12 yrs old in 1965 and I have 3 team photos of my FAV team on my wall, dated 1965, 1966, and 1967.
