What kind of car does the District Attorney drive?

I was surprised to see a 1940s model car with hideaway headlights?! I thought this feature made its debut in the '60s with the '64 Corvette, '65 Buick Riviera, '66 Oldsmobile Toronado, '67 Thunderbird, Cadillac Eldorado, and Pontiac Grand Prix, '68 Ford LTD and Chrysler, '69 Mercury Marquis and Imperial, etc.

It's a 1942 De Soto Custom S-10.

Cords had hide away headlights and front wheel drive in the 1930's.
There's nothing new under the sun.
