I hated the ending.

There is a little thing called the production code which made that type of ending impossible. In the 1940's you could not have a movie where criminals got away with their crime. It would not have gotten past the censors. The message had to be crime doesn't pay.

But then part of the charm of film noir is the fatalism of it & that often worked with the censorship.

Me too, I really wanted them to make a go of it - even though what they did was terrible, I still liked them and wanted to see them do well.

except that L Turner
would still ruin
even a good ending

J Garfield and the gang
do competent
effective jobs of things
but then
L Turner makes a mess
of this way over hyped movie

Who would believe
that bunch
would fall for L Tuner
what a disaster
and highly implausible

But a good ending
would have been
what P Rings Twice
really needed

Maybe push L Tuner
off the cliff
or something
to make up for
her very terrible performance

That would
have been
much more appropriate
than this mess of a disaster
