Hry all,

I have an assignment due soon, here is the question

"In what ways can Film Noir be regarded an integration of American and European influences? Your answer should contain a close consideration of The Killers and another 1940s Noir film of your choice and should deal with the dominant aesthetic and thematic traits of Noir."

Any ideas on the european and american influences in it??

You can start by pointing out that Siodmak was German and made his first films in Germany, was therefore obviously influenced by and a part of the German Expressionist movement there, which, in turn, is often and obviously noted as the stylistic predecessor of American noir.
