Why was the caretaker so afraid and intimidated by Mr. Potter?


I sure wish the caretaker had the cajones to tell Mr. Potter off and return the stolen money back to George.

Potter controlled his livelihood and they’re in the middle of the great depression.

It's very sad that Potter has controlled the caretaker's livelihood, I thought the depression ended by the mid 1930's.
