GILDA AND MULHOLLAND DRIVE
We know that "Rita" in Mulholland Drive takes her name from the movie poster on the wall in Aunt Betty's house (Rita Hayworth in Gilda). From my experience of David Lynch's working methods, he never does anything by accident. Therefore there must be a particular reason for choosing this film. I have several ideas of my own - there are references to having no past - only a present and future. Also there is the idea of love being closely related to hate and leading to violent death. There are also the various "triangular" relationships.
Any other ideas anyone?
