Has this film been colorized?

Is there a colorized version out? I thought some of the sets would be better in color as would Gilda's gowns.

reply

No, there isn't.
I don't think colour would fit to this film noir.

"Shot in color" and "shot in B& W then colorized" are two very different things.

Who CARES??? The film glows in black-and-white and only an
unsophisticated moron would want a "colorized" version.

reply

Nothing would be better colorized. Accept it.

Get up, angel. You look like a Pekingese.

Gilda is a model of superlative B&W cinematography. To suggest that even a single scene would benefit from color, is an insult to Rudolph Maté.

reply

Seriously. My first reaction to the OP question, was "God, I hope not!"

reply

Gilda in color? That is utter blasphemy! You should be punished for even thinking of such thing...

All joking aside, I wouldn't mind seeing a version that colorizes ONLY Hayworth (along with maybe some of the sets) in the film.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

reply

I would like to see color pictures of all of Gilda's wardrobe from the movie, but as far as a colorized version of the film itself?...nah, I doubt it would be an improvement.
