Surprisingly Good
I had never watched these Dick Tracy films before. I assumed that they were merely cheap shoddy B-movies and the first two don't even have Ralph Byrd, the previous Dick Tracy.
But the first was very good and this one is great. Morgan Conway is good as Dick Tracy and I like that they have inserted a number of familiar characters like Vitamin Flintheart, who is priceless in this movie. As with the first film there is a sense of real violence and menace, and the villain in this one is really good, not being a mastermind but a deadly killer being manipulated by others, who generally find out that this is a bad idea.
There is one character, Filthy Flora, who really looks like she was drawn by Chester Gould and her character gives Dick the best line of the movie - "We are going to have a talk with Filthy Flora at the Dripping Dagger".
