Just one of Bogart's many idiosyncrasies like smoking with a ciagarette hanging off his teeth and never even inhaling or exhaling smoke or using it expressively as a prop. There is even a slang term named after him, like "Borgarting" a joint, just holding it with an open mouth, not sharing it with friends or doing anything with it your self. And he still died young of cancer (just turned 57).
