Does any one know what the father's name is? Just curious.

I don't think we ever learn his name in the movie, and it doesn't appear that he is named in the version of the fairy tale on which this particular movie was based--the text of which is available at:

Actually, it is rather uncommon for fairly tale characters, other than the main character her/himsel, to be named.
