Fox had already prepared this as one of their "Fox Studio Classics" releases. I have seen the cover for it and understand that it contains a commentary track with Ted Donaldson, the actor who plays Neeley in the film. It was scheduled for release and then pulled. Why? I believe that Fox has sub-leased this title in England and France and found that they did not have the right to issue their version until the lease runs out. I would image that the Fox edition will not only have a few nice extras, but that the picture will be cleaned up. I have their Laser Disc release, which is great, but the picture is in need of sprucing up -- and that generally is what they have done for their DVD releases. So let's hope that it won't be too long before we have the opportunity to purchase a Fox DVD release of this wonderful film.
