Can't see how this isn't in at least IMDB top 250
First movie in ages to blow me away.
shareYeah, it's a suprisingly powerful film... too bad Peggy Ann Garner's career got so spotty after her teen years...

I stumbled across this hidden gem on late night tv a few years back.. sad it isn't recognized as well as it should be, but it is fantastic.
I came on here to post this exact thing! This is the only film that makes me cry from beginning to end. (full-fledged bawling)
I expected this to be in the top 20 at least...and it's not even on the list! To me, a good movie is one that moves me, and this film does that much better than a lot of films on the list.
I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue...
I think a question which would be as equally appropriate as yours would be is, " why are there so many undeserving titles in the IMDB Top 250? ". Actually, I already know the answer to this question. It's because the majority of IMDB members are in the age range of 18 to 34. These people are conditioned ( brainwashed ) by the movie companies into only liking titles which have been released in the past 20-25 years and most have no interest in checking out older titles, despite their availability on Netflix. I refer to them as the ' American Sheeple '.
shareYou think this is better than Shawshank Redemption? WTF!
Poets are made by fools like me, but only God can make STD.
I'm really curious as to where you read in my post that I say that I think ' A Tree Grows in Brooklyn ' is better than Shawshank Redemption. My guess is that I probably won't get a reply from you, though.
