Is this the movie?

A while back on Turner Classic Movies, this old actress talked about getting a part in an Alfred Hitchcock movie in which she played a nymphomaniac. She had been raised in a Mormon home and had no idea what one was and neither had her mother...yet she went on to play it. Is this the movie where one of the leading women is a nymphomaniac?

reply

No. The female lead (Ingrid Bergman) is at first sexually inhibited, then falls in love and loosens up a bit, but Bergman was Swedish and I don't think they have Mormonism over there.

How do you like them apples?

Yes, it is.

Rhonda Fleming, in her first important film role, plays the nymphomaniac mental patient in Hitchcock's Spellbound. And she was indeed raised by a Mormon mother.
