Bourne Identity vibes

Yes, I know that clearly Spellbound was made before The Bourne Identity films - nonetheless, I got the idea that maybe the Bourne films were influenced by the Hitchcock film? I mean, the idea of an amnesiac being helped by a *very* trusting woman, uncovering a dark dark past, evading the police, all of the escaping/hiding, seeking shelter at a friends, who-can-you-trust feel. Even down to the fact that the real villain was someone you thought you could trust (the head doc v. the CIA dude). I mean, similar, except that JB was a killer, while GP's character wasn't... Alright, not a perfect analysis. Even some of the quotes seemed similar, such as when Gregory Peck was saying that Bergman was the only woman he remembered kissing - JB says something similar to his love interest regarding how she was the only person that he knew.

Anyway... just a thought. Great film. Loved the dream sequence.
